Yesssssssssssss the day has arrived!! Been patiently waiting for one of the best songs on James Fortune’s Identity to be made into a single and video. Now, if you haven’t heard this album, it’s safe to say you have been living under a rock, so go ahead and click here to purchase it. The album is amazing from beginning to end. This album is one that has been speaking to my soul since the day it came out beginning of 2012. James Fortune & FIYA have a unique contemporary sound that speaks to my generation mixed with a traditional foundation that has timeless anointing and quality all over it so any age, race, gender, etc can appreciate the music.
Check out the second single “Hold On” featuring the gorgeous and talented Monica along with gospel legend Fred Hammond. It’s so refreshing to hear great gospel music and a good look to see a gospel video made with quality equipment, can I get an AMEN!! This is a reoccurring segment on my blog: My Inspiration. By now, most of my loyal readers know I love music!!! Yes. Music has the ability to speak the words we can’t always say. Music is a universal language through good and bad times. My favorite gospel female singer is Yolanda Adams. Such an anointed woman of God, amazing singer, and gorgeous. She has hit after hit after hit. One of my favorite songs of hers is Still I Rise. I have loved this song for many many years, but it’s kinda funny how a song really speaks to you once you are in a situation or after one, how you can directly relate to the meaning. On a serious note though, we have all been through break ups and there are soooooo many mixed emotions that come with a break up. Anger, sadness, disappointment, freedom, relief, hurt, happiness, and so much more. One that came to mind while writing this song is the feeling of being simply disposable.
